Residences used by the family

If you family lives in an apartment in a building (duplex, triplex, etc.) that you own, only the part used by the family is considered to form part of the family patrimony.

The value of the part you inhabit is a percentage of the total value, based on the percentage of the building you occupy.

This value is then adjusted based on the characteristics of your apartment, such as:

  • its area;
  • its location in the building;
  • its general condition;
  • its advantages, such as access to a yard or parking area;
  • etc.

The same rules apply to secondary residences.
