Using Your Claim Slip as the Recipient of a Social Assistance Program
The claim slip allows recipients and their families to receive certain medications and healthcare services for free.
This slip, also called a drug card, is sent at the beginning of each month to recipients of a social assistance program.
You receive your slip by mail and can view it in your online account.
Conditions for using the claim slip
To obtain certain medications using your claim slip, you must be enrolled in the Social Assistance Program, the Social Solidarity Program, the Aim for Employment Program or the Basic Income Program.
If you are no longer eligible for a social assistance program, you can keep using the claim slip for a certain number of months.
To access the following services using your claim slip, you must have received benefits for a certain number of consecutive months:
- Eye exam: 12 months
- Dental prostheses: 24 months
- Dental care: 12 months
If you have a claim slip, you must present it when you receive medication or services.
