After obtaining your Québec Selection Certificate to immigrate to Québec as a self-employed worker
Once you obtain your Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ - Québec Selection Certificate), you must continue your immigration process with the Canadian government.
You must also take certain steps to help you integrate into Québec society.
Submit a permanent residence application to the Government of Canada
After obtaining your Québec Selection Certificate, you must submit an application for permanent residence to the Government of Canada.
The Government of Canada is responsible for deciding whether to grant you permanent residence.

Visit the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada website for information on the fees and processing times for processing applications for permanent residence.
To immigrate to Québec, you and your accompanying family members must be selected by the Québec government and then admitted by the Canadian government.
Arriving in Québec before obtaining permanent residence
If your application is accepted, a letter of support for the early entry application will be sent to you with the acceptance letter and your CSQ.
This letter allows you, if you wish and you are not already in Québec, to apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to obtain a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) exempt work permit with the exemption code “C-60”.

Arrival at the airport
If you arrive in Québec through the Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, the staff of the Reception Service of the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration will greet you. Staff can sign you up for information sessions on Québec.

- You must first go through Canadian customs. Then, you will be directed to the Reception Service of the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration. This service is located before you leave the secure area, after baggage claim. Opening hours are from noon to midnight.
- If you are arriving on a flight from another Canadian airport
- Go to the Reception Service of the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration located in the national arrivals area. Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
