Repayment of a student loan

You had a loan with the Loans and Bursaries Program or the Part-Time Education Loan Program. Here are the options for paying off your student debt.

Use your online file to complete your forms or enter into a reimbursement agreement.

Repaying your student loan

You must make an agreement with your financial institution. You are still responsible for your loan.

Deferred payment plan

The period covered by the deferred repayment is generally 6 months.

Loan remission

Your student debt may be reduced by 15% if you complete your studies on time. You must meet the eligibility requirements.

Collection Department

If you do not repay your student debt, you will need to make an agreement with Student Financial Assistance Collections.

Overpayment of assistance

A change in circumstances may affect the amount of your financial assistance.
