About the Government Authentication Service

The Government Authentication Service is a way for you to log in and validate your identity with the Gouvernement du Québec before using any of its online services.

To create and use an account with the Government Authentication Service, you must meet the eligibility requirements.

You can access it securely at any time from your computer, cell phone, or tablet.

Gradual replacement of clicSÉQUR – Citoyens

The Gouvernement du Québec is modernizing its online authentication methods. The Government Authentication Service is gradually replacing other authentication solutions, including clicSÉQUR – Citoyens. Eventually, the Government Authentication Service will become the primary gateway for accessing online services that require secure authentication.  

Upcoming services to phase out clicSÉQUR – Citoyens  

Several services have already phased out clicSÉQUR – Citoyens and are now accessible through the Government Authentication Service. Soon, other government services will no longer offer the option to use clicSÉQUR – Citoyens for authentication:

  • If you have already created an account, no further action is required. A single account is all you need to securely access multiple government online services.  
  • If you do not have an account, visit the page How to create a Government Authentification Service account for all the information you need to set one up.

With the Government Authentication Service, the Gouvernement du Québec is pursuing its commitment to protect your personal information while accelerating the state's digital transformation.

When you create your account, certain key information is requested to verify your identity. Consult the Government Authentication Service privacy policy to learn more about what information is requested, how it is protected, and how you can limit the collection of your information.
