Designate a spokesperson for the collective sponsoring program
Suspension of the acceptance of undertaking applications
- The acceptance for undertaking applications under collective sponsorship has been suspended until December 31, 2029;
- Certain exceptions apply (see Ministerial Order, in French only)
- The ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration (MIFI) will continue to examine undertaking applications already submitted. Sponsored refugees who have already been selected by Québec will also be able to continue their immigration process towards permanent residence.
You must designate a spokesperson who will communicate on your behalf with the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration.
For groups of 2 to 5 natural persons, this person is chosen from among your members. Even if you designate a spokesperson, all the members of your group must:
- Make a solidary undertaking to the refugees you wish to sponsor:
- Complete and sign the undertaking application form.
You are all responsible for honouring the obligations of the other members in your undertaking.
For legal persons, this person is designated by resolution of the Board of Directors.
Your spokesperson will be the only person authorized to:
- Open an account in Arrima;
- Submit your applications;
- Do the necessary follow-up.
The Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration may not communicate with anyone other than your spokesperson and, as applicable, your representative (mandatary).
