Civil Division
The Civil Division is one of the divisions of the Court of Québec. It hears:
- claims in which the amount claimed or the value of the object in dispute is $74,999.99 or less;
- claims in which the amount claimed is between $75,000.00 and $99,999.99 (rather than in Superior Court, at the plaintiff's option);
- requests for custody of a person in a hospital establishment for the purpose of a psychiatric assessment or following one;
- some cases concerning municipal and school taxes.
It has exclusive jurisdiction to hear appeals from the decisions made by certain administrative tribunals, such as the Tribunal administratif du logement.

Administrative and Appeal Division
The judges of this division have exclusive authority to hear appeals from decisions rendered by a number of tribunals and administrative agencies.
Small Claims Division
The Small Claims Division is part of the Civil Division of the Court of Québec. Various types of claims, with a maximum claim of $15,000, excluding interest, may be submitted to the Small Claims Division.
