Youth Division
Important
Effective June 30, adoption applications and applications relating to the security or development of a minor (under 18) are heard by the Court of Québec’s Unified Family Tribunal.
The same goes for applications concerning child custody or parental authority, if related to an adoption or youth protection application already before the Court.
The Youth Division is one of the divisions of the Court of Québec. It hears:
- cases in which individuals between the ages of 12 and 18 are accused of offences under the Criminal Code and certain federal statutes;
- penal cases involving individuals between the ages of 14 and 18 who are accused of offences under Québec statutes and regulations or municipal by-laws.
