Home charging station
When to apply for financial assistance for a home charging station
At the time you submit your application for financial assistance:
- Your charging station must be installed at your dwelling;
- You must be in possession of your electric vehicle.
Buying the charging station or the vehicle first
It is possible to have a charging station installed at your home before purchasing or leasing your electric vehicle. However, you must be in possession of your vehicle before submitting your application for financial assistance.
Link between the application and the vehicle
Each application for financial assistance for a home charging station is linked to a specific electric vehicle: the vehicle identification number (VIN) and registration number must be provided in the application.
Time limit for submitting your application
Submit your application for financial assistance for your charging station as soon as you are eligible. This will help you avoid misplacing the invoices, which must be included with your application.
If you acquired your charging station before January 1, 2024, you are no longer eligible for financial assistance for a home charging station.
If you acquired your charging station between February 1 and March 31, 2025 (the suspension period of the government’s Roulez vert program), you are not eligible for financial assistance.
Time limit before installing a home charging station
There is no maximum time limit between the date of acquisition of the vehicle and the date of the application for financial assistance for a home charging station.
For example, you may submit your application for financial assistance for a charging station during the year following the acquisition of your vehicle. However, you must still be the owner of the vehicle at the time you submit the application application and the program must still be in effect.
