Conditions to be met to obtain a used electric vehicle rebate

To be eligible for financial assistance to acquire a used electric vehicle, you must purchase an eligible vehicle from a car dealer in Québec.

Make sure a new or used electric vehicle rebate was not already granted for the vehicle.

Conditions governing used vehicle purchase

The used vehicle must be purchased from a dealer that maintains an establishment in Québec.

The used vehicle must:

  • come from outside Québec and be registered in Québec for the first time;

or

  • come from Québec but never have been subject to a new or used vehicle rebate under the Roulez vert program.

The vehicle you want to purchase must be on the list of eligible used electric vehicles. Check the model year and version of the model you’re interested in carefully.

All the other conditions of the program must also be met.

Proof of vehicle inspection

The used electric vehicle must have been inspected to evaluate the battery’s residual capacity in relation to its initial capacity. Proof of this inspection must be submitted with the rebate application.

Note: The SAAQ mechanical inspection certificate and report are not supporting documents required when an application to participate in the program is submitted.

Minimum registration period

The vehicle must be registered for at least 12 months in Québec if it is acquired for personal use.

It must remain registered for at least 24 months in Québec if it is registered in the name of a car dealer and 36 months if it is acquired for a vehicle fleet comprising three or more vehicles.

Applicant’s profile

To benefit from this financial assistance, individuals must reside in Québec.

Businesses registered in the Registraire des entreprises that operate and possess an establishment in Québec, Québec municipalities, and public bodies established in Québec are also eligible.

In the event of non-compliance with the conditions of the program, the Québec government can demand the repayment of the financial assistance granted.
