Construction of high energy-efficient housing
About the Novoclimat program
The Novoclimat program was launched in 1999. It aims to improve the energy performance of homes and integrate energy efficiency measures into construction practices. It is inspired by similar voluntary programs in place in the United States and Canada, such as ENERGY STAR® and R-2000 for new homes under the federal government. The program evolves with technological advancements.
The program is administered by the Ministère de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs. It is part of the implementation of the Plan pour une économie verte 2030.
