Determining the stream for your financial assistance application

You can receive financial assistance under the Programme d’aide financière pour la formation d’appoint en reconnaissance des compétences (PAFFARC) if you are taking refresher training:

• Online, from abroad (Stream 1)
• Offered by an educational institution, taken in Québec (Stream 2)
• Offered or overseen by a regulatory body, taken in Québec (Stream 3)

To apply for financial assistance under Stream 1, you must take refresher training:

• From abroad
• Offered in French by an educational institution or regulatory body in Québec
• That is prescribed or required by a regulatory body in Québec
• In order to access a profession or specified trade

If your training is offered by an educational institution, you must apply under sub-stream 1A.

If your training is offered by a regulatory body, you must apply under sub-stream 1B.

To apply for financial assistance under this stream, you must take refresher training:

• In Québec
• That is prescribed or required by a regulatory body
• That is offered in French by an educational institution in Québec
• In order to access a profession or specified trade    

If you are taking your training full-time, you must apply under sub-stream 2A.

If you are taking your training part-time, you must apply under sub-stream 2B.

To apply for financial assistance under this stream, you must take or have received refresher training:

• In Québec
• Offered or overseen by a regulatory body
• Not offered by an educational institution
• In order to access a profession or a specified trade
• In French

This stream is divided into two sub-streams:

If you have successfully completed your refresher training in the form of hourly courses, you must apply for financial assistance under sub-stream 3A.

If you are taking your refresher training in the form of an unpaid internship, you must apply for financial assistance under sub-stream 3B.
