Choosing the right contractor to convert an oil or propane heating system

To be eligible for the Chauffez vert program, the dismantling of a fuel furnace (oil or propane) and the installation of a new heating system must done by qualified, certified contractors.

Plan your project

To complete your project, you will have to choose:

  • a new heating system for your home
  • a new water heater (if applicable)
  • a contractor to perform the work

Take the time to do some reading before planning your project.

Watch out for fraudsters!

We never do telephone solicitations or door-to-door canvassing for the Chauffez vert program.

We urge you to be vigilant if anyone contacts you, or knocks on your door, to offer services related to the government's Chauffez vert grant.

If you believe you've been the victim of a fraudulent solicitation, visit our Customer Service page to learn what you can do.

  • Their licence must include the category and sub-category corresponding to the work they intend to perform on your premises.
