Here’s the list of supporting documents that were required when applying for financial assistance from the Chauffez vert program.
End of financial assistance on March 31, 2026
Government financial assistance for converting a central heating system from oil or propane is no longer available as of March 31, 2026.
Attention, you had to have completed your work and submitted your application for financial assistance before this date to participate in the program.
No application for financial assistance received after March 31, 2026 is accepted.
Accepted formats
Prepare an electronic copy of all the documents you should attach to your application in the online form.
You could choose to:
- scan a document in PDF format;
- take photos of your document with a cell phone or another electronic device.
The electronic copy of a document had to include all the pages of the original document.
For new owners
If you were missing any supporting documents, or were unsure which ones to send, you had to contact our Customer service department before completing your online form.
Proof of home ownership
Proof of home ownership could be:
- the property assessment roll for the home;
- the tax notice (school and municipal taxes);
- the notarial deed.
Electricity bill
The electricity bill had to be the last bill dated before the work began.
The electronic copy had to include all pages of the bill, including the data table that shows past electricity consumption.
The electronic copy also had to contain the following information:
- name of the homeowner;
- address of the dwelling:
- invoice date.
Fuel bill
You had to provide a complete copy of your last fuel bill (oil or propane) or the annual delivery statement.
The electronic copy had to include all pages of the invoice and contain the following information:
- name of the homeowner;
- address of the dwelling:
- delivery date;
- type and quantity of fuel purchased.
Proof of purchase and installation of new heating system
The electronic copy of your purchase and installation invoice for the new heating system had to contain the following information:
- address of the dwelling to be renovated;
- name of the homeowner;
- company name;
- RBQ licence number of the contractor who performed the work;
- date of the work;
- description of the work (e.g. make, model and power of the system installed);
- cost of the work.
A sales contract or price quotation was not a proof of installation. A work order or installation report could be accepted.
Proof of purchase and installation of new water heater
If your work included replacing the water heater, the electronic copy of your invoice for the purchase and installation of the new water heater had to contain the following information:
- address of the dwelling to be renovated;
- name of the homeowner;
- company name;
- RBQ licence number of the contractor who performed the work;
- date of the work;
- description of the work (e.g. make and model of water heater installed);
- cost of the work.
