Official stenographers

Official stenographers capture and transcribe everything that is said in a courtroom or during out-of-court examinations.

They are officers of the Superior Court. They must remain neutral.

Their job is to faithfully record:

  • testimony;
  • arguments;
  • the judge’s directives to the jury;
  • oral judgments.

These transcripts are used by various people, including judges, lawyers and the parties involved in an appeal.
