Individual charging station in a multiple dwelling
Eligible expenses for an individual charging station in a multiple dwelling
All invoices related to the purchase of the charging station and the installation work submitted must be in the applicant’s name.
Check whether your installation expenses are eligible.
Types of eligible expenses
Eligible expenses may include:
- the cost of acquiring an eligible charging station;
- the cost of installing the charging station and the required electrical infrastructure for its operation, in certain cases.
Eligible expenses must have been incurred at the time the financial assistance application is submitted (except for upcoming lease payments if the station is leased). Submitted expenses must be necessary and justifiable.
The installation work for the electrical supply infrastructure and the charging station must be performed by an electrical contractor, in accordance with the Québec Construction Code.
Details on eligible acquisition expenses
The acquisition cost corresponds to the price you paid for the charging station only, whether purchased or leased, before taxes.
For a leased charging station, the acquisition cost is equal to the total of all past and future monthly payments. The lease contract must be for at least 36 months for the expense to be eligible.
You must have spent at least $600 (before taxes) on the acquisition of your charging station to be eligible for the government financial assistance.
The following expenses cannot be included in the acquisition cost of the charging station:
- Taxes;
- Delivery fees for the charging station;
- Fees for charging station accessories (mounting bracket, adapter, protective cover, charging port guard, anti-theft device, etc.);
- Fees for replacement parts;
- Fees related to the operation of the charging station (network management, maintenance or servicing fees);
- Fees for extended warranties.

- you reside in a triplex or quadruplex built after October 1, 2018;
- you reside in a multiple dwelling or condominium that has received financial assistance under the Écorecharge program for upgrading its electrical infrastructure.
Installation costs may include labour and material costs required for:

- installing the electrical infrastructure required to power the charging station;
- upgrading the apartment’s electrical panel or adding a panel for an independent outdoor connection;
- installing an outdoor electrical outlet.
Costs related to the electrical infrastructure must be necessary, reasonable, and justifiable.
The following expenses may not be included in installation costs:
- Taxes;
- Administrative fees;
- Electricity costs;
- Wi-Fi network upgrade costs;
- Costs related to landscaping or paving of parking areas and sidewalks, other than those related to restoring areas damaged during installation work.
Required invoices
All invoices must be in the name of the person submitting the application for financial assistance.
You must include with your application your purchase invoice or lease agreement for the charging station. The invoice for the installation work is also required.
- Check the required information on the invoices.
- Make sure that the model of charging station you acquired is eligible for financial assistance.
- If in doubt, contact customer service before submitting your application.
Date of expenses
You must have incurred the expenses after January 1, 2024, to be eligible for financial assistance.
The expenses must also be incurred while the government financial assistance program for a charging station in a multiple dwelling is in effect.
This condition applies to both the Roulez vert and Écorecharge programs.
If you acquired and installed your charging station between February 1 and March 31, 2025 (the suspension period of the Roulez vert program), these expenses are not eligible for financial assistance.
