Opinion on the navigability of the bed of a lake or watercourse
The Ministère de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs (MELCCFP) may issue, upon request, an administrative opinion on the navigability of the bed of a lake or watercourse.
Navigability determines whether the bed of a lake or watercourse is in the public domain.
This service is reserved for land surveyors, notaries and lawyers.
Fill out the online form (French). In the application identification section, select “Navigability request” (in French: Requête sur la navigabilité.)
An acknowledgement of receipt will be provided once the application has been submitted.
A check will be made to determine the navigability of the lake or watercourse. The determination is confirmed by email.
