Applying to an educational institution

Processing of applications for temporary selection for studies at three targeted institutions

On July 28, 2026, the Tribunal administratif du Québec (TAQ) paused enforcement of the decision of the ministère de l’Éducation du Québec (MEQ) to not renew the licences of the Collège supérieur de Montréal (CSM) and the Collège supérieur de Sherbrooke (CSS) until the Tribunal’s final decision.  The rights of these colleges associated with their teaching licences are, for the time being, maintained.

As a result, the ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) continues to receive and process, for the time being, applications for temporary selection for studies submitted by foreign nationals wishing to study at the CSM or the CSS.

In addition, the TAQ allowed “Les Instituts Herzing de Montréal inc.” to continue to offer until May 7, 2027, or until a decision of the ATQ decides otherwise (whichever comes first), vocational studies to students enrolled in the Computing Support program (5229/5729-DEP) at June 30, 2026 who wish to extend their study permit for that program.

International students who wish to study in Québec must choose an educational institution and program that correspond to their interests and educational objectives.
