Charging projects in multiple dwellings
Charging stations installation project in multiple dwellings
For a project involving the installation of multiple charging stations in the parking area of a multiple dwelling, a flat-rate amount of $600 is granted per installed charging station.
Amount of financial assistance
The financial assistance granted is a flat-rate amount of $600 per installed charging station.
The installed charging stations must be among the eligible charging stations.
For charging stations equipped with multiple ports that allow simultaneous charging of multiple electric vehicles, the financial assistance is $600 per installed charging port.
Charging stations may be purchased or leased on a long-term basis. They must be kept in service by the applicant for at least 36 months.
Financial assistance is payable in a single payment.
Eligible expenses
The eligible expenses for a charging station installation project in a multiple dwelling are the acquisition costs of the charging stations.
- The acquisition cost of each charging station must be at least $600 (before taxes).
- For a charging station under a long-term lease (36 months or more), the acquisition cost is equal to the total of the monthly payments already made and those remaining. No financial assistance is available for a charging station with a lease term of less than 36 months.
At the time the application is submitted, all charging stations covered by the application for financial assistance must be installed in the parking areas of the multiple dwelling. Eligible expenses must have been made (except for future monthly payments, in the case of leased charging stations).
The charging stations must be primarily intended for the residents of the building.
Ineligible expenses
The installation costs of the charging stations, including connection work, are not part of the eligible expenses.
In addition, the following expenses may not be included in the calculation of charging station acquisition costs:
- Administrative fees;
- Delivery fees for the charging stations;
- Spare parts;
- Accessories for the charging stations (stand or pedestal, adapter, protective cover, charging port guard, anti-theft device, etc.);
- Operating costs for the charging station (network management, servicing or maintenance fees);
- Extended warranty fees;
- Taxes.
Date of expenses
To be eligible, charging station acquisition expenses must have been made after January 1, 2024.
Expenses must be made while the government financial assistance program is in effect. This condition applies to both the Roulez vert and Écorecharge programs.
Expenses made between February 1 and March 31, 2025 (the suspension period of the Roulez vert program) are not eligible.
