When and how to deposit the sums seized

When you register for voluntary deposit you undertake to deposit an amount corresponding to the seizable portion of your income, at the office of the Court of Québec, on a regular basis.

You must deposit the amount yourself. It cannot be deducted from your wages by your employer, at any time.

The amount deposited will then be distributed among your creditors.

Time of deposit

You must make your voluntary deposit weekly or monthly, as per your undertaking.

Payment methods

You can make a voluntary deposit using one of the following payment methods:

  • credit or debit card;
  • certified cheque;
  • postal order;
  • cash.

Before making a voluntary deposit, you must establish what your income is and calculate the seizable portion.
