Payment of your debts

When you have finished paying all of one of the debts listed in your voluntary deposit declaration, a notice of payment is sent to you and to your creditor.

Your creditor has 15 days to contest the notice if he or she considers that the debt has not been entirely paid. If your creditor does not contest the notice, the clerk will confirm that the creditor’s debt has been removed from your file.

The same applies if you make a final payment after reaching an agreement with one of your creditors.

Credit assessment agents

You must contact a credit assessment agent to check your credit rating after paying off a debt. To inform them that a debt has been paid off, you must forward the notice confirming that a debt has been paid off in full to the credit assessment agent concerned.
