Stay or annulment of a sale

The sale of your property may be stayed if:

  • both you and the seizing creditor agree on the stay;
  • it is ordered by a judge;
  • a notice of opposition to the seizure of the property is pending.

When a sale is stayed, the bailiff publishes a notice of stay in the sales register.

Annulment of a sale

If, in the end, your property is not sold, the bailiff notes this in the sales register kept by the Minister. If applicable, the bailiff notifies the land registrar, who cancels the notice of sale.
